These next few pictures are of the Savage River in Denali National Park, Alaska. Our first day in Denali we hiked the Savage River (and the big rock that was at the beginning of the trail).

This is a picture of me (Amy) on the Savage River!! I have my rain gear on because it was raining off and on throughout the day.

This was the huge rock I was talking about that was at the beginning of the Savage River Trail. If you look at the very top you can see two people up there (that is Nick and Robert). I went up the rock and then came down before them so that I could get their picture. It was very high and the view was pretty. When we had first gotten to the trail, there were groomsmen coming down from the very top (a couple had just gotten married a short time before we arrived up there).

Here is a picture of Nick. This was on the bank of the Kingfish Creek in Denali National Park. On this creek you can go whitewater rafting. Maybe we will raft this creek sometime while we are up here?

On the first day in Denali we hiked around the Savage River. This was one of the many jack rabbits we saw. They were all over the place in Denali. I caught him in action!!

This is from the fish hatchery right outside of one of the gates on base. The king salmon were jumping like crazy. They can't make it up the dam though. I was able to take a short video of a few of the salmon jumping (if I can figure out how to put it up on here, I will do that later).

This is Thunderbird Falls. This was a pretty easy and short hike near Lake Eklutna. It was about 1 mile in and 1 mile out. There were 2 different "end" points to this trail. This was the bottom of the falls and in the next picture the other end point which was the top of the falls.

Here is a view of Thunderbird Falls from the other point in the trail.

Below is Mirror Lake. We stopped here on our way to Thunderbird Falls. It didn't look like there was much to do here. I didn't see any hiking or biking trails in the area. There were people who were canoing and some others fishing from the bank.
