4th of July dinner :-)
Below are pictures of downtown Anchorage and Cooks Inlet at midnight on July 4th. We came there to see fireworks but were being swarmed by mosquitoes. We waited for 20 minutes for the fireworks but they were a no show so we left.
The next day we went on the back of base to check out the lakes and see if there were any fish or wildlife. Below is a picture of my mom at Triangle Lake with the Chugach Mountains in the background.

This is the day we went to Alyeksa Ski Resort to hike Winner Creek Trail and have some lunch at the resort. My parents almost made it to the end but they got a little tired and headed back. Nick and I went to the end of the trail -it was a little over a mile from where my parents turned around. Here are some pictures from the trail. At the end of the trail there was this beautiful waterfall and then a little further down there was this bucket that you had to take to cross a ravine. It was pretty cool.
My mom and I took a train to Whittier, Alaska. Once there, we went on a 4 hour wildlife/glacier cruise. Here are some pictures...

One of the many glaciers we saw. If you look in the ice and water in front of the glacier, you will see tiny specs-these were harbour seals. They hide out from the killer whales.

On Sunday, my mom and I went to the Alaska Zoo.. It was huge. We saw a lot and had a great time. Here are some pictures of the animals from the zoo.
